Apprenticeships

Impellam Group is an accredited apprenticeship partner. In the UK, one of the best ways to upskill your people and provide them with a sense of purpose is through apprenticeships. As an accredited provider, we understand the importance of upskilling workforces to grow businesses. An apprenticeship is a suite of qualifications which provides individuals with knowledge and the necessary skillsets required to competently undertake and complete a role, all whilst they are in position. Courses are tailored to suit the employer and individual, with many choices across multiple standards of frameworks. We’ll help your people achieve the highest standards of professional development and career enhancement through Apprenticeships with Blue Arrow, Guidant Global, Tate and Carbon60.

Impellam is committed to providing a quality service and achieving the highest standards of conduct and service. If any learner, or their employer, wishes to make a formal complaint, you can find our Complaints Policy & Procedure document here.

Although apprenticeships are not new in the world of education, there's still a lot of uncertainty around who can do them, what benefit they have and how they work. We want to make answering these questions easy, so you can find out more by downloading our Mythbuster document here

Two men fixing a plane

Second-year Aircraft Mechanic apprentice, Joel Greene, was offered a job with a leading British airline after the collapse of their previous employer. Carbon60 partnered with our client in order for Joel to pick up his apprenticeship where he left off. He said:

"The Carbon60 team are incredibly professional and approachable in everything they do. Communication is excellent, they are always happy to speak, even outside of work hours when required.

I am really thankful that having lost my job when my previous company ceased trading, I was able to find a job so quickly and continue to work on my apprenticeship. Carbon60 continuously stretch and challenge me in order for me to excel in the role through the training they deliver"

Why choose an apprenticeship

More and more businesses are seeing the benefit of Apprentices joining their workforce; from closing growing skill gaps in their businesses, to increased retention. Training Apprentices produces workers with skills that are shaped into precisely the right people for the job, making them an asset to your company. Firms that employ Apprentices lower their recruitment costs because training staff is more cost-effective than hiring skilled staff. As Apprenticeships become more common place, we’re beginning to see other benefits as data becomes available: more than three-quarters (76%) of companies who employ Apprentices agree they make their workplace more productive, according to data compiled by the National Apprenticeship Service. A typical Apprentice delivers productivity gains of over £10,000 annually.

Key takeaway

Impellam Group will support you with the whole apprenticeship process, from preparing the vacancy description, advertising and shortlisting, through to training. In most cases, it won’t cost you a penny! If you pay into the Apprenticeship Levy, you can access these funds to cover all recruitment, training and assessment costs and appoint expert Impellam Group brands to execute the programme on your behalf. If you don’t pay the Levy, you’ll only pay 10% of these associated costs. If you’ve spent all of your Levy funds, the government will pay 90% of the additional cost of training any additional apprentices.
