Credit/Collections Analyst

The Credit & Collections Analyst will primarily be focused on customer collections and credit investigations. Specific duties are outlined below:

Collections Management

  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Company customers
  • Hands-on responsibility for collecting customer accounts, including establishing the appropriate internal and external relationships
  • Resolve customer discrepancies, billing issues, short-payments and disputes
  • Prepare and review collection reports to ascertain the status of collections and outstanding balances to ensure compliance with the Company collection policy
  • Generate and distribute aging reports to business leaders and assist in collection process
  • Enlist assistance from sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process
  • Manage delinquent accounts and ensure maximum collection efforts and negotiations have been taken before being written off and/or assigned to external collection resources
  • Manage outside collection providers, when applicable
  • Update and maintain all customer and collection record

Credit Management

  • Obtain and interpret credit reports, financial statements, other financial or accounting related information, and references
  • Collaborate with company sales team to establish appropriate credit limits on customer accounts by investigating and verifying the financial status and reputation of customers applying for credit in accordance with Company Credit and Collection policy
  • Prepare documents to substantiate credit findings and establish appropriate credit limits on customer accounts
  • Monitor deviations from standard credit and/or payment terms

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of credit and collections experience
  • Stable job history demonstrating results and ability to perform analysis
  • Time management & organization skills
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements and other financial or accounting related information
  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel skillset including vLookups, Pivots and Reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
